In his pictures, objects and installations Stefan Alber deals with the complexity of the relationships and boundaries of photography, painting, sculpture and architecture. Starting from a space, an object or a situation Alber develops specific questions with which he question processes, production techniques, habits of seeing or social contexts. In doing so, he experiments with the effectiveness of materials and surfaces, bends, folds or combines them, like a modular system, with modules from found and everyday objects. Many of his works are based on models, cite art history or social events. The search of site-specific circumstances plays an overlapping role.
