„Floating Horizon“ meanders through the exhibition space as baseboard and aims to merge the vertical and horizontal axis, but it is constantly broken by the structure of the room. Conceptualized as a wall element, the mirroring skirting board makes the floor seem to overflow and the wall to float. With the industrially produced wave mirror, Stefan Alber creates a site-specific work that not only investigates the potential of this mass product, but also questions our relationship to spatial perception.

„Floating Horizon“ mäandert als Sockelleiste durch den Ausstellungsraum und versucht die vertikale und horizontale Achse miteinander zu verschmelzen, doch wird sie immer wieder durch die Struktur des Raumes gebrochen. Als Wandelement konzipiert lässt die spiegelnde Sockelleiste den Boden scheinbar zum Überlaufen und die Wand zum Schwimmen bringen. Stefan Alber schafft mit dem industriell gefertigten Wellenspiegel eine ortsspezifische Arbeit, die nicht nur das Potential dieses Massenprodukts untersucht, sondern auch unser Verhältnis zu räumlichen Wahrnehmung befragt.
