The Uferhallen are undergoing a period of transformation. A visible sign is the constant expanding construction site. In summer 2026, new studios were ready for use. What’s next?
Looking back: In an exceptional effort, the tenants fought for the long-term preservation of this center for art and culture. Thanks to the support of Berlin’s political leaders, a contract was successfully concluded with the owners of Uferhallen in 2023. However, the implementation of the contract and the development of a funding model are not yet completed. Whether this cultural hub can be preserved in the long run remains to be seen.
Despite this climate of uncertainty, 20 studios will open their doors to show their artistic work. Visitors are welcome to experience art up close in the studios and engage in conversation with the artists.
